  Wesley Benn
Benn Design Pty. Ltd.

AS the principal of Benn Design, Wesley has been using and advocating the cause of Revit for more than 6 years. Benn Design is a full service architectural firm, with projects ranging from houses to high-density residential and commercial development projects. Wesley works with a distributor in demonstration, training, implementation and support, works with Autodesk on Revit development and implementation, and has active businesses in staff recruitment, production outsourcing, and content creation.

Wesley is the founder and Chairman of the Revit User Group, Sydney, is an occasional speaker and design jury member at UNSW, and apparently has a wife and two children.

  Stewart Caldwell
Russell and Yelland Architects

Stewart is currently an associate at Russell and Yelland architects in Adelaide. He graduated from the University of Adelaide on 1999 and has been at R&Y for about 5 years. Unlike most CAD users he was initially very hesitant when using 2D CAD systems but found his calling when picking up REVIT about 3 years ago. Stewart has since become the CAD manager of sorts at R&Y as well as being responsible for CAD systems development and training for office staff. When he’s not busy performing his architectural duties he spends his time experimenting with the nuances of REVIT, focusing his attention on the integration of other software into REVIT (SketchUP primarily) as well as developing best practice procedures for using REVIT in an architectural office. Stewart is also a member of the (recently) newly formed RUGSA group.

  Glenn Cunnington
Monumentum

Glenn had aspirations to be the greatest home-brewer in history, or at least a rock and roll star! However due to some dreadful evil perpetrated in a past life he was condemned to a career in architecture. Since graduating from the University of Queensland more than twelve years ago, Glenn has held substantial positions with Chetwood Associates (UK), Peddle Thorp (North Queensland), Humphrey & Edwards and Seidler Associates in Sydney. Before, in a moment of complete madness four years ago, establishing his own practice!

Monumentum are now involved in projects that range from 15m2 concession fitouts for a well known fashion label to a 50 hectare tourist sub-division in Nadi, Fiji!

Monumentum have been using Revit for nearly two years and haven't looked back. Glenn has come to accept that he'll never be a rock and roll star. But at least occasionally still enjoys a good home-brew!

  Bill Duncan
Kell & Rigby Pty Limited

As Design Manager for Kell & Rigby Builders, Bill’s focus is to maximise the buildability and construction effectiveness of a project while maintaining and enhancing the original intent of the Design Architect.

His passion lies in fixing a ‘broken’ industry and he sees BIM as the central enabler in removing the barriers between project team members.

After graduating from Newcastle University with First Class Honours in Architecture, Bill started wading into the 3D CAD world in 1995 to model and document architectural projects for visualisation and construction.

For several years, he led a team of modellers and graphic designers at HPA / Mirvac using 3D CAD to provide material for architectural design review and marketing.

Bill is now leading the implementation of a BIM strategy at Kell & Rigby, which will once again create a cohesive project team working efficiently, with minimal wastage (and no litigation!), to achieve an outstanding built result to delight the client and end user.

Some people know him as beegee.

Bruce also has his own blog ( well, who doesn’t ) called Revitalize. (http://revit-alize.blogspot.com/.... )

If he has any spare time ( his wife will tell you he never has ) he could be found riding his motorbike or even hiking in the mountains.  Ahh, the dream.

  John Hainsworth
Arup

As a structural engineer, John has notched up many years of struggle trying to get previous releases of Revit to do what engineers want. With the release of Revit Structure - he’s a changed man !

As a Virtual Construction Coordinator with Arup, he has unhealthy interest in the use of Revit - and other competing packages - within the consultancy environment - especially for ifc translation, analysis integration, contractor/design team co-ordination, supply chain co-ordination, construction sequencing, as well as 4d & 5d planning.

His views on a successful transition to Revit, return on investment, when to model, what to model, the level of detail, costs, budget, advantages and the subsequent passing of data rich models might interest some of the delegates at Shoal Bay....

The program is expected to be completed by mid 2007 (quite ambitious given that REVIT Systems has not been officially released in Australia yet).
